Their cabinetry comes in many colors and textures with a clean contemporary look. They will design a system to fit your specific area, whether it is in an office, commercial or home environment. Affordable, high-quality cabinetry utilizing Wisconsin hardwoods and built by experienced craftsmen in Cottonwood, MN. Legend Cabinetry brings popular, high-end features — including all-plywood construction, concealed dovetail drawers with soft-close slides and hinges and more. We purchase lumber from companies that practice environmentally sound forestry methods, including sustained yield harvesting plans. The overwhelming majority of lumber we stock is certified by either the SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) or FSC (FSC Forest Stewardship Council), two organizations that certify sustainable forestry practices.

WAUKESHA

Established in the 1880s by Christian Meckelberg, North Side Lumber & Fuel Company was a staple of the near-northside community. Many homes built in the area of North Avenue, Holton Street, and Chambers Street were supplied with lumber, nails, windows, roofing material, and more from North Side Lumber. As well as stocking the bits and pieces of building materials, North Side Lumber did millwork, made flooring, and sold all manner of soft and hardwood from North American and some South American forests. They also provided the fuel (eastern anthracite coal) for homes and businesses of the area to cook, keep warm, and operate steam boiler-driven machinery. Now in our fifth generation of Bliffert family ownership, we are proud to be family-owned and operated, and we make sure that the personal service we’re known for shines through at each of our fourteen locations. Coal and lumber delivery to the distributors was by a rail spur that fed the business from the Milwaukee Road’s northbound City Line.

Cabinetry

His children have become the sixth generation of Blifferts to work for the business. Bliffert says his kids won’t be pressured to continue on in the family business if they choose to pursue other interests. Bliffert himself only began working at the company when he was in graduate school at UW-Milwaukee. He needed a summer job and decided to seek a job at the family’s lumberyard, then owned by his uncle and still president of the company Fred Bliffert, at the behest of his mother. From new construction and remodels to the mudroom cabinet that’s seen just a little too much mudroom, we have the designer’s eye, expertise and vast selection of trusted cabinetry brands to offer you endless possibilities. From single cabinets to vanities, custom to full kitchen designs with the top brands including Legend, ProCraft, Woodland, Quest, and Countryside.

DEFOREST

That includes four in Milwaukee and one each in Cudahy and Oak Creek, as the Bliffert website notes. The lumber company, which goes back to the 1870s, now has a popular hardware store in Riverwest. However, Bliffert still enjoys being a smaller, community-based company. It allows his company the freedom to do things the bigger companies can’t. The only thorn poking in Blifferts side is the lumberyard competition from the big box stores, which can sometimes feel like a nail being driven by a hammer. “The box stores just pound it in to your head,” he says, referring to ad campaigns like those by Menard’s.

Farming Lumber, 1 in Thick Nominal, 12 ft L Nominal, Wood Species: White Oak

His lumber yard, which is mostly frequented by contractors, remodelers and a group of loyal customers, doesn’t get patronized by the younger people who typically head to box stores for their lumber needs, he says. Creating a personalized, well organized kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room has never been easier than with Fillinger Millwork custom cabinetry. Fillinger Millwork is focused on the manufacturing of hardwood mouldings and custom millwork and cabinetry. Countryside offers quality built-to-order cabinetry, manufactured in De Pere, Wisconsin. With Countryside Cabinets, you have the freedom to choose your overlay and door style, as well as over 100 color and wood specie combinations.

Bliffert Lumber & Design Waukesha

In 2004, Bliffert Lumber was comprised of six yards under ownership by “different parts of the family,” Bliffert says. The same year, he worked to consolidate the yards under his single ownership, and purchased two more yards, one in Waukesha and the other in Sturtevant. Prior to re-structuring his business, he was employing 20 employees at two yards; now he has 140 employees at eight locations.

“We call it fighting the retail relevance battle,” Bliffert says of his decision to open the company’s first retail hardware store in 2009. At Bliffert's, you’ll find an extensive inventory of lumber and building materials. Our experienced staff can help you determine what you’ll need for your job, whether it’s a home repair or a new construction project. Quest Engineering specializes in a wide array of Euro style cabinetry & casework for commercial office layouts as well as home applications including kitchen, closet, garage and laundry areas.

bliffert lumber & design

Bliffert Lumber is owned and operated by the 5th and 6th generation of the Bliffert family. Bliffert decided to choose his family company’s original business location, 1014 E. Chambers St., in Riverwest as the site for his foray into the retail hardware business.

With the following process we’ll help you determine the best look and function of cabinetry for your project and your budget. Call now to schedule a design consultation with one of our designers or visit one of our Design Centers in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Sturtevant, Germantown, Oostburg and Madison. We do our utmost to stock our stores with environmentally-friendly products whenever available. Bliffert Lumber’s original company store, which dates back to the 1870’s, was stripped of its interior furnishings, so the store could be preserved in the museum. Bliffert Lumber & Hardware — with 13 locations in Wisconsin (including Oak Creek, above) — has merged in Madison area Chase Lumber and it’s three locations in Sun Prairie, DeForest and McFarland.

The business was finally incorporated in 1904, making the name North Side Lumber & Fuel Company official. Bliffert came to work for the company, eventually marrying the daughter of the owner. Bliffert slowly took on more responsibility and managed the concern for several years under the North Side Lumber name. Shortly after World War I, the company name was changed to reflect Bliffert ownership, under which it still operates today.

Please reach out to one of our designers for more information on custom cabinets from Bliffert's Fillinger Millwork. As lumber yards began closing and going out of business in Milwaukee and the surrounding area, Bliffert decided the company needed to tap into the retail hardware market or risk following suit. “We weren’t gonna make it another hundred years without some change,” he says.

Chase Lumber has been serving South Central Wisconsin and the surrounding area since 1897 specializing in lumber, millwork, windows, cabinets, decking, kitchens and baths. Bliffert’s move into the hardware trade has won it recognition from the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce. Bliffert Lumber was a first place winner in the category of building materials for this year’s Future 50 awards presented by the MMAC. The awards are given out each year to the 50 companies in the Milwaukee region that have shown rapid growth in employment and revenue over the previous three years. The Collectivo coffee shop, then called Alterra, was just down the street and a big draw for customers to the Chambers street location, he noted. Bliffert was soon watching numerous “Volvo station wagons” make U-Turns in front of his business on their way to grab some coffee, he notes.

Ultimate World Cruise: An Epic Journey Around the World

one year cruise

Cruise lines usually designate one ship (a few offer two) to sail about 100 days or longer — some even sail more than 200 days — without repeating ports. Sail aboard the Coral Princess for our longest-ever Australia-based World Cruise! This six-continent and 110-day world adventure visits popular destinations including Scandinavia & Baltic, Iceland, South America and transits the historic Panama Canal. That includes a business center with meeting rooms, 14 offices, and a business library for all Zoom call needs. A longer cruise holiday means incredible value for money, with so much included in the price.

Too Expensive? Here's How to Lower the Cost

As someone who's taken over 50 cruises all over the world, I know firsthand how popular cruising is this year. But one seabound itinerary people often forget to add to their bucket lists is a Mediterranean cruise. Sometimes you might need a little – or a lot – more time to experience everything on your wish list. Visit multiple dream destinations all in one cruise holiday, one stop at a time.

Life

Connect with countless distinct cultures, soak up the most spectacular landscapes on Earth, and marvel at World Wonders that showcase mankind’s boundless imagination. If the ship docks in a secondary location and you have to travel to the big tourist destinations, I always book excursions through the cruise line. For instance, the day my family and I explored Rome, the ship docked in Civitavecchia, Italy, and we had to take a two-hour bus ride into the city. Life at Sea Cruises just announced it’s accepting reservations on its first-ever, three-year cruise, which will travel 130,000 miles, visit 135 countries across seven continents, and stop in 375 ports of call, all aboard the MV Gemini.

Deals on Cruises Near You

As you can imagine, this once-in-a-lifetime epic journey around the world is highly customizable. The ticket price for the 274-night journey ranges from $59,999 per person for an interior stateroom to $117,599 for a junior suite on the 2,476-passenger Serenade of the Seas®. You might think that if you travel the world for almost a year, you'll need to bring your whole home with you, but this isn't necessarily the case. In fact, you'll want to err on the side of bringing less rather than more. You'll have laundry services (among other complimentary treats) included in your fare, and can buy almost anything you need at ports. Focus on bringing a basic wardrobe built for laying in different climates, and any special items you know you can't easily buy, as well as medications and other need-to-haves.

EXPLORE MORE

Some stops along the Ultimate World Cruise℠ will invite more hiking and exploration (Jordan's ruins of Petra, for example), while the colorful waterfronts of European idylls like Bergen, Norway, are better for sitting down for a meal or drink. What makes this vacation unique is the luxury of time and space, which allow you to truly relax and explore many sides of yourself. You might consider yourself a total beach bum as you reach the sandy shores of Oahu but feel like a history buff as you take in the Taj Mahal. You might feel like an explorer as you explore the ruins of Chichén Itzá in Mexico on foot, then opt to take a camel when you reach the Pyramids of Giza. Depart in San Francisco, or continue the voyage back to Miami for a total of 168 nights.

Plus, Crown & Anchor Society Platinum status members and above will receive a bonus Seven New World Wonders shore excursion package in addition to other perks, including a Deluxe Beverage package, VOOM Wi-Fi, laundry service and more. This globe-spanning journey includes an incredible array of opportunities to deepen and enrich your travel experience. In addition to the Exclusive Shoreside Events and optional Mid-Cruise Overland Programs, there are overnight stays in coveted destinations that are a true traveler’s dream. You’ll have ample time to leisurely tour, savor dinners ashore, discover top UNESCO World Heritage sites and explore in the ways you find most meaningful. Enjoy the many pleasures of Cape Town and the nearby picturesque Cape Winelands, delve into Bali’s fascinating traditions and treasures at greater length, and experience the spectacular diversity of the landscapes that surround Auckland.

one year cruise

Count on visiting 47 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Australia's Great Barrier Reef and Robben Island in South Africa. The bigger ship lines offer the lowest fares, although extra fees for what's not included (such as shore excursions and alcohol) can add up quickly. If contemplating a big-ship voyage, read the inclusions carefully, as they vary among lines.

Remove the hassle from air travel and give yourself the gift of flexibility, time and a thicker wallet with Princess EZair flights. We negotiate lower rates with the airlines, allow you to modify your flight up to 45 days prior with no penalty and protect you if your flight is late or canceled. Plan a cruise around the world, and visit ports you may not know even existed. Not only will you encounter some of the world’s most revered sites and cities from Dubai to Sydney, you’ll have the opportunity to step ashore in lesser frequented ports, maiden calls and first time ever calls for Princess. Encounter some of the world’s most revered sites and cities from Kuala Lumpur and Sri Lanka to Bali, and Singapore. The final leg of the Ultimate World Cruise is an immersive cultural exploration starting in the Med heading north.

Princess Cruises - Island Princess

There's no doubt that it's expensive to live on a cruise ship, but there are ways that you can trim that amount. Carnival Horizon is a newer ship from the cruise line that sails six and eight-day itineraries year-round from Miami in 2024. That means you could sail the entire year without having to change ships and always coming back to a homeport in the United States. With all of these expenses in mind, we dove into what it would cost to live on a cruise ship for an entire year. From drinks to wi-fi to specialty restaurants, there are plenty of extra to spend on the ship. And even if you are a frugal sailor, you won’t go any lengthy time without having a few drinks or signing up for the Internet package to check in back on shore.

The same planning in advance applies to popular theme cruises, which tend to sell out with previous guests taking the majority of cabins. These include the annual Star Trek cruise and Outlaw Country Cruise, featuring live music, themed parties, celebrity meet-and-greets and enthusiastic fans. Sign up for notices that will let you know when bookings open and get on the waitlist as early as you can. When a ship moves to a new destination that the line has not visited before, whether Hawaii or Norway or elsewhere, expect a surge in interest and early bookings.

This world journey sets sail in January 2025 on an exceedingly unique east-to-west circumnavigation designed for those seasoned explorers seeking their next epic adventure on the horizon. The 180-day odyssey will be filled with a kaleidoscope of destinations, immersive excursions and indelible moments that will remain with you long after the journey ends. Cultural treasures spanning the ages will captivate your mind, stunning natural wonders in all four corners of the globe will stir your spirit, and local encounters everywhere you sail will awaken your heart.

Even though it means paying for lodging and likely a few meals before boarding the boat, getting a good night's sleep before a jam-packed vacation is worth it to me. After taking my first Mediterranean cruise last year, here's what I think everyone should know before booking the route. It's doubtful you can get by without spending at least some money, but our estimate comes out to about $700 per person, per week. These fees vary, but in general, expect about $100-$200 per person for a seven-day cruise. Cruises commemorating significant events also sell out quickly — such as cruises themed around the 80th anniversary of D-Day or the total solar eclipse in 2024.

This ship delivers many onboard activities like cooking and dance classes, trivia contests, enrichment programs and games of basketball, volleyball and tennis on the sports court. On board, relish music venues like Billboard Onboard and BBC Earth in Concert, where a live orchestra plays before a huge backdrop of spectacular wildlife footage. Count on a buzzy casino, fine dining at specialty restaurants and a professionally staffed fitness center. However, many lovely inclusions, such as white-gloved servers presenting complimentary daily tea, are available for all guests. Be among the first to explore the world aboard Queen Anne, the line's first new ship in 12 years. Scheduled to launch in May 2024, the 2,996-passenger ship will take over Cunard's world cruise duties in January 2025.

This means there are more opportunities than ever before to take one of these bucket list cruises. You might think that with all the cruise ships out there — many carrying thousands of passengers — you have all the time in the world to book your cruise. The reality is that some itineraries, and certain cabin categories on many sailings, sell out a year or more before the ship leaves the pier. This journey will be the line's longest, sailing for 154 nights and visiting 77 ports in 41 countries across six continents. The itinerary includes three new ports of call for Regent, including Lifou Island and Mare of the Loyalty Islands in the New Caledonia archipelago.

Sail around the world in 132 nights aboard the Seven Seas Mariner on a round-trip journey from Miami. This 2024 world cruise, with fares starting at $73,499, is officially sold out, but you can join a waitlist to be notified of cancellations. It's important to note that you can opt for the whole cruise, or stay onboard for however long you want. Each of four Ultimate World Cruise℠ segments — Americas, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Med and Europe & Beyond — can be booked a la carte, with business class airfare between your home and wherever you start and end included in the price. Or, pick one of the 17 sailings (ranging from nine to 29 nights) that make up the cruise and visit the sites that are most exciting to you.

Starting from Miami on 10 December 2023 and through 10 September 2024, the Serenade of the Seas is offering an immersive experience on its longest and most comprehensive world cruise yet. You will need to book a year in advance, too, if you want to stay in a suite on a river ship with lines such as Uniworld, AmaWaterways and Viking, as these accommodations are limited yet highly sought after on the small vessels, Clabber says. Pent-up demand to see the world and the ability to work from anywhere has increased the stakes. Lines such as Viking, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises, for instance, have all had world cruises sell out in days, hours — even minutes. Take a pause from life, and indulge in the replenishing sanctuary with invigorating treatments and services to beautify, unwind and replenish your physical and mental wellbeing. Our Salon staff are trained internationally in face, body, hair, and nail treatments, and will provide a wide range of reasonably priced treatments for everyone.

What To Wear On Cruise For Men

cruise attire men's

Remember, clothes to wear on a cruise are meant to enhance your experience. This means dressing for the occasion for also wearing what’s comfortable. As a women, I always pack my own bag for a cruise vacation, but end up helping my boyfriend pack as well.

Princess Cruises Dress Code: The Longer the Cruise, the More You Dress to Impress

However if you are not allowed jeans in the main dining room on your cruise it is still worth packing jeans for cooler days. When I have cruised in the Caribbean the most common type of hat I see being worn by men is a baseball cap. Whereas if you are traveling to just cities, then comfortable walking shoes will need to be top of your list. The type of shore excursion you plan on doing will also affect the type of clothes you will need to pack.

Pink Spring Nails: How to Achieve the Perfect Shade for Every Skin Tone

When it’s time to soak up the sun and enjoy the pool and outdoor spaces on the cruise ship, you’ll want to dress appropriately for the occasion. Pool and deck wear should be comfortable, practical, and stylish, allowing you to relax and have fun while maintaining a respectful appearance. During casual nights on a cruise, resort wear or casual attire is usually appropriate. This can include nice slacks, a blouse for women, khakis, and a polo shirt for men.

Formal Nights

A great way to maximize your wardrobe is by investing in items that are versatile enough to go from day to night with ease. For example, dark denim jeans paired with a nice button down shirt can easily be dressed up with some nice shoes for an evening out at dinner or drinks at the bar. During Viking cruises to Alaska and Antarctica dress codes are likely to be even more relaxed as outdoor ondeck and onshore activities often take place well into the evenings. It's a bit of a challenge to bundle up for sky watching in fancy clothes.

Plus a comfortable pair of shoes you can easily walk around in for different terrain. You’re getting accustomed to your new home at sea with lots of exploring and finding a delicious cocktail. Hoodies – Hoodies are ideal if you plan on taking part in any outdoor activities during your cruise, such as hikes or kayaking trips. Look for ones made from fleece or other thicker materials to ensure warmth in cooler temperatures.

Start with a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt and pair it with shorts or trousers depending on the weather. Choose comfortable shoes such as loafers or sandals that are easy to walk in. In cooler weather, add a jacket, and don’t forget to bring a sweater in case it gets chilly at night.

BR has a variety of chinos in different fits and fabric styles, some 100% cotton, others with a bit of stretch for comfort. Leona has lived across the globe and completed a round the world trip with her family. Her mission on this blog is to help you take the stress out of packing. If you are traveling to Europe we also recommend avoiding cargo shorts where possible. Now this isn’t necessary in all capsule wardrobes but picking a color pallete so that everything complements each other is a great idea.

The Power of Accessories: Elevating Your Style Game

The cruise line you are traveling on will greatly influence the essential items on your men’s cruise packing list. Wear it with a tie, button down, or no tie, and even a polo shirt. Create a laid-back daytime look by pairing your shorts with a comfortable t-shirt or polo shirt. A good, comfortable pair of sandals can be worn to the pool and port.

Disney Cruise Line Dress Code: Making Dress-Up Nights Fun

As the ambiance onboard shifts to a more elegant setting, passengers are faced with the delightful decision of what to wear to encapsulate the sophistication of the sea at night. Remember that daytime cruise attire should suit the diverse activities available onboard and ashore. By packing smartly, you blend in with the cruising culture while prioritizing your comfort and readiness for any adventure that calls your name.

This way, whether you’re soaking up rays on the deck or discovering new cultures on land, you’ll always be adequately dressed for the occasion. Dressing up on a cruise is not mandatory, but it can enhance the overall experience and add to the festive atmosphere onboard. Whether you embrace formal nights or opt for a more relaxed dress code, the key is to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. The above collage shows a range of outfits to wear to dinner on a cruise. On the more casual end, sandals, shorts, and a collared shirt is also appropriate. Shorts are an ambiguous, often frowned upon, option for evening attire.

You'll see suits and ties, tuxedos or evening gowns, but don't have to go so formal yourself. Royal Caribbean formal nights have the highest expectations for passengers, urging them to put on their finest cocktail dresses, evening gowns, suits or tuxes. As with the line's smart casual dress code, jeans are not allowed in the main dining rooms on formal nights.

Selecting the perfect cruise outfit for men can be tricky, but with a few tips, you can look your best while on board. Having the right shoes on board is key when cruising, as you may find yourself walking long distances around the ship or exploring different port cities along your journey. Investing in comfortable yet stylish shoes like boat shoes or loafers can help keep your feet happy while still looking fashionable during your travels. As on other lines, you may find that the official dress code may be lightly enforced on some ships, often in relation to destination and even size of the ship.

Opt for a waterproof or water-resistant bag to protect your belongings in case of unexpected rain or water activities. You'll need a lightweight bag for all your sightseeing essentials. Our packaway day sack folds up into itself and fits easily in your suitcase when not in use. It's surprisingly roomy, showerproof and light to carry – even in hot weather. Make them tailored as an option for casual evening wear where permitted.

Even if you typically use your phone as a clock, bringing a watch on board will help you keep a more accurate eye on the time throughout the day. You’ll want to get to all of the ship’s daily activities on time, and a watch can be extra helpful during your port stops to make sure you get back to the ship on time before it departs. If you’re having trouble figuring out what to wear on a cruise, don’t worry, we’re here to help.

Hopefully we should have answered your main questions about men’s cruise wear however here are some of your frequently asked questions. And please let us know in the comments below if you still have a questions as we would be happy to answer. Hawaiian shirts are very popular on hot weather cruises, not just on a Hawaiian cruise. Shirts both long and short sleeve will commonly be seen in the restuarants on cruise ships.

No matter where in the world you choose to wander, cruises can take you deep into top-rated cruise ports and off-the-beaten-path gems, so you can experience each one like a local. In April 2022, I cruised on board Royal Caribbean's Wonder of the Seas. At the time, it was the largest cruise ship in the world, but the title has since been replaced by Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas.

There's also a British pub, a karaoke lounge, a Latin-themed nightspot and — located one deck up in a balcony area — the line's signature Schooner Bar. Every Royal Caribbean ship has a casino, and on the line's bigger vessels, these are big operations. The Casino Royale on Oasis of the Seas sprawls with 450 slot machines, 27 table games (including blackjack, roulette and craps) and a poker room, plus its very own bar. The casinos on the four other Oasis Class ships are similarly giant. Even more "wow," as Royal Caribbean executives like to say, are the ice skating shows put on at the ice skating rinks found on 14 of the line's ships.

If you're a megaresort lover, you'll surely love the line's biggest ships, particularly the giant Oasis Class vessels.

However, even the smallest of Royal Caribbean ships still have quite a bit to offer. While not necessarily the focus at Royal Caribbean, these smaller ships, which in general are the line's older ships, allow it to offer itineraries to places that aren't as easy for big ships to visit. Not all ports in the world can handle a ship the size of Wonder of the Seas. Together, the 19 Icon, Oasis, Quantum, Freedom and Voyager class vessels make up Royal Caribbean's big-ship fleet.

No matter which ship you choose to sail on, this is a fleet filled with incredible feats. This seven-night Eastern Caribbean itinerary on Wonder of the Seas® is a top choice if you want to change things up and go on a unique adventure in each port. Your first destination is Philipsburg, St. Maarten, where you can tour the island on an ATV, sample rum from a local distillery or end the day with a sunset horseback ride on the beach. Virgin Islands at Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, head straight to Magens Bay, often short-listed as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Or dive into a snorkeling tour to get face time with some sea turtles and coral reefs. On your final stop, Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay, everyone in your group can enjoy a seemingly endless array of activities.

It does offer a small number of cabins on some ships that are priced based on single occupancy for solo travelers. For the most part, Royal Caribbean operates big, bustling megaships that will appeal to people who like a megaresort experience. In other words, if you're the kind of person who loves staying on property at Disney World or at a giant Las Vegas resort, this is the line for you. Royal Caribbean ships offer vacationers a ton of options, whether it be for dining (some vessels have more than 20 distinct places to grab a bite) or entertainment. The outlier among the six ships mentioned above is Icon of the Seas, which isn't an Oasis Class ship but the first of an all-new series of even bigger vessels called the Icon Class.

Formal officially means suits and ties, tuxedos, cocktail dresses or evening gowns. You'll see most men wearing suits or sports coats and women in cocktail dresses. During the evenings, there is an official dress code, but it only applies to passengers entering the main dining room. On any given night, one of three dress codes will apply — casual, smart casual or formal.
